If you have grant experience and would like to volunteer to be on an ad-hoc scoring panel for the FY 2025 Carson City Arts and Culture Grants, please download the A&C Grants Review Panel Application and submit completed form to afreeman@electronic-fittings.com. Panelists must verify that they do not have any conflict of interest.
GRANT REVIEW PROCESS
Staff will review applications for eligibility and completeness. Applications that meet all eligibility requirements and are substantially complete, at the discretion of staff, will be accepted for further review. Applications will then be reviewed and evaluated based on the Commission’s scoring criteria by an impartial ad-hoc panel. The Commission will make funding recommendations to the Board of Supervisors based on scores. Grants are contingent on available funding as approved by the Board of Supervisors. Some applications may not be funded, and grant awards may vary from requested amounts.
Panelists and commissioners are required to disclose all known conflicts of interest with any grant applicant(s) and abstain from the discussion and scoring of the specified applicant(s). Conflicts of interest include circumstances where a panelist, commissioner, or any member of panelist’s or commissioner’s immediate family:
- Has direct involvement in the operation, management, or serves on a board of directors or trustees of an applicant
- Has a direct ownership interest or investment interest in an applicant
- Is employed by an applicant
- Receives or has the right to receive, directly or indirectly, remuneration pursuant to any arrangement for compensation with an applicant
After application scoring is completed, the Cultural Commission will convene in a public meeting to discuss scores and vote on funding allocations. Grant applications with an average score of less than 70 will not be considered. Applicants are asked to refrain from contacting panelists during the scoring process.
